Charlie's group of six experienced fly fishermen enjoyed their 5th annual trip to Zihuatahejo Mexico in November 2001.  They set several personal records and the group hooked 30 trophy size sailfish during the week while landing 18 that were photographed and released.  Many spectacular jumps and runs which took out as much as 250 yards of line in less than a minute.  These fish, ranging from 80 to 130 pounds took an average of 45 minutes to land.  Although the sailfish were tired, the fishermen never complained.

The Zihuatanejo Bandits of Dave Wands, Dale Smith, Charlie Swoope, Tom Curtis and Jim Lord enjoy the morning coffee (remember they are from the North West) before a day's fly fishing.

Showing that the fishing is also good up north, Dave Wands displays his trophy salmon in excess of 20 pounds.
