Academy Fellow Charles Swope has been actively involved with the Habitat for Humanities project through his Church. Their efforts have resulted in the beautiful homes that you see above for low income families. 

Charlie describes the building materials as being very durable and very low maintenance. He also tells us that the project strives for low cost and high quality.  Part of his work involves the disassembly of existing homes to recover the building materials that are used in future construction.
